IATI aims to make information about aid spending easier to access, use and understand.
Its purpose is to help implement the transparency commitments made at the Accra Agenda for Action in the most consistent and coherent ways. The Accra Agenda for Action arose from the March 2005 Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness.
The International Development Research Centre (of Canada) (IDRC) supports research in developing countries to promote growth and development.
IDRC works with researchers and innovators in those countries to find practical, long-term solutions to the social, economic, and environmental problems their societies face. Our goal is to bring choice and change to the people who need it most.
 Knowledge Management
While there is no single definition of KM, the definition adopted by EPDI is based on ADB's description, in that 'knowledge management is about providing the right knowledge to the right people at the right time, and helping them apply it in ways that improve organizational performance' (ADB 2012)

Guided by the spirit of managing the Okavango River Basin as a single entity, the three sovereign states of Angola, Botswana and Namibia agreed to sign the "OKACOM Agreement" in 1994, in Windhoek, Namibia.
The OKACOM Agreement established the Permanent Okavango River Basin Water Commission (OKACOM), also referred to as the "Commission", whose objective is "to act as technical advisor to the Contracting Parties (the Governments of the three states) on matters relating to the conservation, development and utilisation of the resources of common interest to the Contracting Parties (basin member states) and shall perform such other functions pertaining to the development and utilisation of such resources as the Contracting Parties may from time to time agree to assign to the Commission".
